CASABLANCA, Morocco, October 16, 2024 – Electrical Components International (ECI) was honored with the American Investment in Morocco Award at the American Chamber of Commerce in Morocco (AmCham) Gala, held in Casablanca. This event also marked the 20th anniversary of the Morocco-US Free Trade Agreement (FTA), celebrating two decades of stronger economic ties and increased investments between the two nations.
Since its establishment in 2014 in Tangier Automotive City, ECI Morocco has played a pivotal role in driving economic growth and innovation. Over the past decade, it has emerged as a leader in producing high-quality electrical distribution systems, control box assemblies, and engineered components for global markets. In May 2024, ECI Morocco commemorated its 10th anniversary by inaugurating an expanded facility, which enhanced its manufacturing capabilities and created a significant number of new jobs.
The Gala featured discussions by industry leaders and government officials, including Ryad Mezzour, Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade, and Dr. Younes Sekkouri, Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment, and Skills. They highlighted the substantial growth in bilateral trade and the need to address trade imbalances to foster a balanced economic partnership. U.S. Ambassador Puneet Talwar also emphasized Morocco’s strategic location and modern infrastructure as key to attracting American investment.
Representing ECI were Zoltán Csibra, President of EMEA; Brahim Eloualanti, Plant Manager of ECI Morocco; and Ahmed Ras, EMEA HR Director. Csibra remarked, “This award is a testament to our team’s dedication to promoting economic growth and innovation in Morocco. We are proud to contribute to the industrial landscape and job creation in the region.”
This recognition reaffirms ECI’s role as a key player in the electrical components manufacturing sector, committed to driving innovation, growth, and sustainability. The Gala not only celebrated past achievements but also set the stage for ongoing collaboration and strengthened economic ties between Morocco and the United States.
