CHONBURI, Thailand, December 04, 2024 – Electrical Components International, Inc. (“ECI”), a global leader in electrical distribution systems, control box assemblies, and other engineered components, celebrated a major milestone with the official opening of its new facility in Chonburi, Thailand.
Since establishing its first plant in Ayutthaya Province in 2020, ECI has steadily expanded in Thailand. The move to Chonburi in 2024 marks a key step in this growth, with a new, larger facility supporting both domestic and export business. By 2025, the workforce is expected to double with additional capacity expansion.
“We’re incredibly proud to open the Chonburi plant, expanding our Southeast Asia footprint,” said Mike Balsei, CEO of ECI. “With this facility, we are proud to serve our global customers and support their growth trajectories.”
The Chonburi facility meets international standards with certifications in ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and UL/CSA. It plays a vital role in supporting both domestic and export markets, advancing ECI’s strategic goals in Southeast Asia.
The inauguration event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a tree-planting activity symbolizing ECI’s long-term commitment to the region, and an employee town hall where CEO Mike Balsei and senior management shared their vision for the future. Key attendees included Luke Lu, President of Asia; Udesh Kaul, Chief Procurement Officer; Simon Lui, Vice President of Sales & Marketing; and Tony Wong, Plant Manager of ECI Thailand.
Looking ahead, the Chonburi plant will continue supporting current and new markets across sectors such as specialty transportation, HVAC, home appliance, data centers, automation, and industrial machinery.
“We want to thank our employees, partners, and the people of Thailand for being part of this exciting journey,” said Luke Lu. “Together, we are building a sustainable future, benefiting our customers, our team, and the broader Thai economy.”
As ECI grows in Southeast Asia, the Chonburi facility will remain central to the company’s mission of delivering innovative solutions and supporting local economic development.
