Inauguration of ProEV, Electrification Site and EV Center Center of Excellence

MONTRÉAL, August 18, 2022 – As alternatives to fossil fuels become increasingly important in the transportation sector, ProEV, a division of Electrical Components International (ECI), is proud to open the largest electrification site dedicated to the engineering and manufacturing of commercial and industrial electric vehicles in North America. This site is ECI’s latest addition, enabling it to serve its more than 500 global customers with its growing team of 25,000 employees.

The opening of this new facility is coupled with the announcement of a $10 million investment over 5 years. The site will also include an innovation department to optimize manufacturing processes and increase the impact of existing technologies.

This inauguration reinforces ECI’s position as a major North American hub for the transportation electrification, particularly for commercial and industrial vehicles. Serving major brand manufacturers, ProEV demonstrates that the supply chain is also a source of innovation, investment, and job creation. “The opening of our new facility will position ProEV and ECI as the high voltage wire harness supplier of choice in the commercial and industrial EV sectors, a high value, high growth megatrend area”, said Mike Balsei, CEO of ECI. “This state-of-the-art electrification center is where our team’s expertise and innovations will help OEMs meet the growing demand for all their vehicle platforms”.

Proud to support the economic development of the North American EV hub, ProEV will create 250 new skilled jobs through its new facility.
